Small Project Initiatives
The small project initiatives are primarily in the urban area of Vientiane Municipality and are initiatives directed towards child rights. Some of the issues involved include child prostitution, the trafficking of children, child labor, drug abuse and other similar issues.
CWS is currently supporting a pilot project in an urban Vientiane community which is assisting the community to establish a community-supported center for activities for children. This center provides a positive environment and enjoyable activities for children of the community to participate in when they are not in school. The activities include music, drama, weaving, carpentry, gardening, handicrafts, and others. Parents and village leaders are involved and support the center.
